Dates are a crucial part of the Production Process. Not just for design, product development, garment tech and production. Marketing and creative teams need to know for shoots and launches, logistics/warehouse teams need to plan for the arrival of goods, and leaders want to have an accurate overview across their business.
They change all the time – particularly for interim steps that don’t impact the critical path. It’s important to be able to separate these dates from your key dates that have an impact,
But, it is just not possible to have a structured date negotiation and approval process from within the cells of an excel sheet.
Dates can often get thrown around emails and WhatsApps, where they can often be ignored by team members. Brands can set target dates, factories can often disagree or fail to meet them, and teams have no clarity on what stage of production everything is. Missing dates impact people and the planet, not just profit.
Teams and manufacturers need to collaborate and agree on dates together with both sides having full visibility and accountability on where everything agreed is.
Watch/Listen to Co-Founder + Head of Product, Flora Davidson, explain how impactful agreeing and tracking dates can be and how SupplyCompass’ Style Tracker feature turns this into a structured, auditable process.
